Book Club Fun!
Each July, Campus Club Book Club members read "books-of-choice" rather than a specific book. Often books are chosen from a suggested genre.
The July 2025 category was children's books. Attending members shared meaningful memories while participating in a "Pass Along" project, donating books which will be given to students in Loachapoka classes to take home as their own, passing along the pleasure and joy of reading.
On a beautiful October morning, Club President Claire Twardy, welcomed the ladies of Auburn Campus Club to a lovely luncheon in the Pavilion of Moore’s Mill Club. The tables were set with a theme to honor the featured speaker, Susan “The Nun” Nunnelly.
“Fun with the Nun” is a beloved event hosted by Susan for incoming freshmen and their families who are attending Camp War Eagle. The Nun shares some of the most cherished Auburn traditions, teaches all the traditional cheers, and then delights them, as she did the ladies of Campus Club, with her many experiences as the long-time voice of Auburn Women’s Basketball.
Just as she pours into new student those things they need to learn about Auburn traditions, she filled us with her numerous stories, her delightful wit, her great passion and enthusiasm, and her indomitable Auburn spirit While her legacy will be made as a legend in the art of sports officiating, it is also made in her testimony of faith and her passion for Auburn University.
Many thanks go to Event Chairs, Michelle Reed, Susan Housel, Sarah Walls, and all the ladies who made the space so festive!

In Good Taste!
The setting for yet another wonderful Camp Club Event, “In Good Taste” was the gorgeous home of Auburn Campus Club President, Michelle Reed. This Spring wine tasting event was the high-point of the season held on a beautifully sunny afternoon on the most resplendent grounds of her Moore’s Mill home. Florals, hats, and fascinators made the Event chairs, Michelle Reed and Wendy Callicoat planned a lovely afternoon of wine tasting with Sommelier, Clayton Cawthorne of “Reed’s Vino Venue”. Club members enjoyed sampling white, rosé, red, and sparkling wine varieties while enjoying an absolutely decadent charcuterie board. Many thanks to the planning team: Michelle Reed, Wendy Callicoat, Claire Twardy, Patti Lunday, Debbie Richbourg, and Karen Porter. Also many thanks to husbands Joe Twardy and Bill Porter for their chauffeur service!

On Friday, March 28, 2025, Campus Club members were fortunate to be able to tour the Food Bank of East Alabama. Event chairs, Janice Buckingham and Susan Housel planned perfectly for multiple groups to have the opportunity to learn first-hand about the day-to-day work of this important community resource. Club members learned how the Food Bank receives donated and purchased food, how food is sorted, repackaged, stored, and ultimately sent to various agencies. Members saw how the food resources are distributed to our food-insecure neighbors. Attendees also had the opportunity to lend a hand of help to assemble dental health bags with toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, etc. which will be placed in the backpacks of many children in our local schools.
